  Tom McCullough, MBA, CIM, FCSI, Ch.P
President and CIO

Tom has more than twenty-five years experience in the wealth management industry. He was a Managing Director and an Executive Committee member at RBC Investments. As head of the Private Client Research and Investment Group, he was responsible for investment products, fee-based advisory and discretionary management, financial planning, and insurance for the brokerage, trust, private banking and investment counsel division. He also managed global marketing and strategy for all business lines and was a member of the Investment Strategy Committee and the Operating Committee.

Prior to this role, Tom was a Vice-President and Director at RBC Dominion Securities, where he was Divisional Manager for the Central Region of Canada. This followed his tenure as Head of Marketing and Chair of the firm-wide Strategic Planning Committee.

After enjoying a twenty year career with RBC, Tom became President of Langford Consulting Group Inc. Langford is an independent consulting firm specializing in business strategy and execution in the investment and financial sectors. Tom then co-founded Northwood Private Counsel, one of Northwood Stephens’ predecessor firms, in February 2003.

Tom has an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto. Tom also holds the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation, the Chartered Professional Strategic Wealth (Ch.P.) designation, is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), and the Certificate in Family Business Advising from the Family Firm Institute (FFI).

He is Chair of Opportunity International Canada, part of a worldwide charitable organization, which offers small business loans to the entrepreneurial poor in the developing world (www.opportunityinternational.ca). Tom also serves on the board of Touchstone Ministries, a charitable organization that encourages business and political leaders to explore the spiritual and ethical aspects of leadership. He is a member of the Corporation of Yonge Street Mission, the Dean’s Advisory Board for University of Toronto, and the Board of Directors of Burke and Company, an independent pension and benefits consulting firm.
Tom is also a member of the Family Firm Institute.
